A rock and cabaret band whose name means "Jan's Spring", playing at the
"Pod Ręką" club. It was formed in 1966.
It brought psychedelic music with a varied range of instruments to the music scene. It was active
for 6 years, making several radio recordings in that time.
In December 1970 the band appeared at the Sala Kongresowa (Congress Hall) in Warsaw together with
Niebiesko-Czarni
and
Tropicale Thaiti Granda Banda.
Line-up:
lead guitar, vocals - Jerzy Wójcik(1946-1989)
rhythm guitar, piano, viola, vocals - Jacek Ukleja
bass guitar, vocals - Jerzy Kołacz / Paweł Partyka / Jacek Szepan (d. 2019)
piano, vocals - Rafał Marchewczyk
Claviset, organ - Piotr Walewski
percussion, tambourine, vocals - Ryszard Antoniszczak(1947-2021)
sound engineering - Jerzy Kołacz / Paweł Partyka
The line-up was expanded as needed. For the larger-scale psychedelic shows
it was joined by:
Krystyna Święcicka - vocals,
Bogna Idziak - ocarina,
Piotr Łopalewski string instruments,
Jerzy Nowakowski,
Marian Knobloch and
Zbigniew Gubernat.
The band used unconventional sound and stage effects. The photos
show the performers in white lab coats, which served to... heighten the strobe
effect. Strobe lights came into use in discos many years later.
The music archive holds eight of the band's radio recordings. Number
eight is the song Kiedy będę żałował, which for several weeks was
number one in the chart of Polish Radio Programme III.
