After the band Rubiny broke up in 1969, two musicians from that group - Paweł Ścierański - guitar and Leszek Podstawka - bass guitar - set about forming the group System in 1970.
      Besides the two of them, the line-up included Lech Palca - vocals and Jerzy Dąbrowski - drums. The band's music leaned towards hard rock.
      The band performed in clubs in Kraków and Nowa Huta. For quite a long time it played at the Steelworks and Mechanical Technical School (THM) in Nowa Huta. In July and August 1971 the band played at the Zakopane "non-stop" (a summer dance venue), situated in the centre of Zakopane.
      One July day the audience got a pleasant surprise: during the set by System, onto the stage came the then well-known and now legendary group Silesian Blues Band in its full line-up: Józef Skrzek - bass guitar, harmonica, vocals; Anthimos Apostolis "Lakis" - guitar and Jerzy Piotrowski - drums;
     The musicians of that group were in Zakopane on their concert tour. The two groups, System and Silesian Blues Band, also played together in a jam session. According to a radio broadcast and an article printed in the regional press.."it rocked so hard that the marmots fled to the Slovak side.."
      During the lifetime of System the drummer Jerzy Dąbrowski was replaced in turn by Marek Ślazyk, Ryszard Idzi and Jacek Wojnarowski. In June 1972 the bass player - Leszek Podstawka - left, to start working with Estrada and the Polish Artistic Agency "Pagart".
     After Leszek Podstawka left, the band carried on with Krzysztof Ścierański until it ended its activity, which happened in September 1975.

      The band gave concerts around the country, among others in Mielno (the concert shell), Koszalin (the amphitheatre), Gliwice (the Gwarek club), Radom (the hall of the Radoskór works) and Kielce; in 1974 it played in front of the Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University, and it performed in student clubs, among them Rotunda, Zaścianek, Gwarek, Karlik, Buda, FILUTEK, Atarax and the Polfa club (Wander)..
