The band Skalpele ("The Scalpels") was active in 1967-1969 at the Wiolinka club on the Młodości estate and at the nurses' club on the Na Skarpie estate in Kraków-Nowa Huta. The band's greatest achievement was winning first place at the national festival of big-beat bands affiliated with the health service.
The repertoire consisted mainly of vocal numbers that were popular at the time, and some of them were the band's own compositions. In particular these were songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Niemen, Czerwone Gitary and other artists.
